MEET LOUIE,

the new King of Queens.

Louie became part of our family today. We don't know how we've lived without him. Okay, gotta go walk him.

Have a wonderful weekend.

PSSST: Drop by Central Snark over the weekend where you can find me spinning tunes.

UPDATE: Two weekends ago, my brother-in-law called and asked "so do you want a puppy?" He then went on to recount Louie's tale of wanderlust (or escape from a chain gang, we're not sure). My brother-in-law and SIL found him near their home where they spend weekends. They are animal lovers and of course, took chase and rescued him. Signs were hung all over the area, vets, humane society, police all contacted. They brought him to a vet to see if he had a chip imbedded with his information - nothing. They've had him for a month and would have kept him, but they are a one dog household and Hershey already rules theirs.

My reaction was of course we wanted a dog. It was Scissors that needed working on. He basically refused and I called the next day and told my BIL that we would be taking the pup. I'll spare you the details leading up to Louie's arrival except to say that Scissors really warmed to the idea. He want from complete disagreement to agitated resignation. Real progress. They brought him to our house yesterday and when Scissors walked in and Louie went and jumped up and put his little paws on his lap, it was like the scene from The Grinch That Stole Christmas - his heart grew three sizes larger that day.

Guess whose side of the bed Louie slept on last night?

Shari, he is just a sweet little guy. Thanks.

Weirsdo, me too! A mini Bobo.

Nessa, thanks - he is! We are so lucky.

Claire, thanks. Yes, I did this in a hurry. I just posted a little update of how he came to join our family.

How did you come to inherit such a beauty?? Well named - he looks like royalty in his repose :)

Good fortune is smiling upon us. We love him!

That's one of his names - he came with Louie and his everyday name is Lucky Louie. His regal name is King Louie I of Rego Park, Queens.

YAY!! i lovelovelove the fact you finally have a four-legged friend in your midst. and how did i know Scissors would warm up?? heh heh, one word: Joel. (seriously, that's exactly what happened when little Sophie came to live with us) ; )

Louie looks like the best parts of a King Charles Cavalier and, maybe, Llasa Apso. (i could be wrong about the second, but i'm pretty sure i'm spot on about the first.) he's a little doll, and i'm guessing he's loving YOU as much as you're all loving him!! (Weirsdo/Jenn, i thought he looked a lot like BoBo, too!) xox

thanks for everything else, too, my dear NBFF. i promise to write and/or call as soon as i can... xox

Jenn, thanks so much. The votes are strong on a Bobo mascot. How lucky are we?

Icy, Louie love you too or he will when he sees you :)

Theresa, he is, isn't he? It's hard not to fall under his spell.

Ariel, he is. It's like he's always been here.

Bingo! (oh that's American for right on, just in case. :)

fn: hahaha - one's already chipped. We'll be bringing him to the vet this week. I'll tell you I would be heartbroken if he ran away and we've only had him for three days, so I'm not taking any chances. Isn't it great when the little wanderers end up in our homes? thanks friend.

Pavel, thanks pal. Yeah, he's looking a little suspiciously at Julian but we're keeping a close watch. So far so good.

Actonbell, I don't know what would be so disruptive about him coming to work with me. Really. Thank you thank you.

Cin, yeah, that has started and a lot sooner than I'd predicted so there's that $20 gone.

Thanks so much. XOX

Neva!!! Oh how I miss you. I knew you would lovelovelove that fact and we lovelovelove Louie!

In my very educated background of dog breedery, I concur on the King Charles because he does look quite like one. Ooh and Llasa Apso - I'll be googling pictures shortly. I can confirm that he is 100% loveable (aren't dog humans just sickening? :)

Don't worry about that, I'm just happy to hear from you as I have been wondering and worrying, but knowing you were wherever you were supposed to be at any given moment. We'll "talk" soon. XOX

What a great looking pup!

Willie and Walela were evacuated from my house (by me) yesterday due to firestorms, so it's nice to have Louie around to talk to.

G said...

Firstly, glad to hear that Willie and Walela are out of harms' way. Secondly, Louie says "Wooof!"

Louie, is such a fab name and kudos on making Scissor's decission for him. Sometimes it needs to be done.

Oh my God, how cute is that dog?!

G said...

Minka, sometimes it needs to be done and I was not passing Louie up. You'll meet him on your next visit to the states I should hope.

XOX

PS: Yeah Louie is a great name - given to him by my sister-in-law. She named him well.

Louie's cute. He's not a yapper, is he? I hate yappers.

G said...

He is, isn't he? No, he's not a yapper! A little howl every now and again. Even if he did yap, it would be cute. :)

Getting any sleep over there, mama? That is one cute lil' guy!

Come see me some time! I miss you! xo

Mini Bobo: Boboli?

Ariel the Thief said...

Boboli, LOL!!

Anonymous said...

This is to inform you that any assault by said canine on my client, Mr. Banana, will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Anonymous said...

Your dog will always love you.It is too bad we cannot say the same thing about people!

G said...

Cindra, better to ask Scissors that question :] I will. My brain is so scrambled these days, I do everything by rote just to get everythind done.

Hope you and your wonderful family are well. xox

Weirsdo, Boboli! I might have renamed him that! That's good.

Ariel, too funny, I agree.

Mr. Prypeel, I don't like your tone. The implication was quite the contrary and if my dog should suddenly be spending more yard time with Mr. Bananas, you may be hearing from my attorenys at Dewey, Cheatem, and Howe.

Bill (are you the related-to-me Bill?): I know - ungrateful lot that people are! :)

ann said...

G said...

Ann, he has that effect on everyone our little Louie does. XOX
