SATURDAY SPIN

Just some music for the weekend. As I anticipated, my change in commute has been a boon for my reading time but a bust for my music listening time. Maybe I'll start reading to you on the weekends :)

Today, I'm just spinning an old fave, Aimee Mann who according to NPR has "carved out a presence as a consistently top-shelf chronicler of human desires and failings." You can listen to her live on Wolrd Cafe here.

The video is the song Freeway from her most recent, @#%&*! Smilers:

She is a great singer. When I picture driving long road in the USA, I picture singers like her being on on the radio. :-)

G, your video reminded me, let me introduce you Harcsa Veronika, she's an annoying but very good singer, the kind that takes you to places with her voice. :)

Tibbar, tibbar, too!

Love it! I've always like Aimee Man. I remember when she had a cameo role in a Rush video from their song, "Time Stand Still."

Thanks for sharing, G.

I like this one. When I was on my way home from the museum in Seattle last week it was playing as I drove down the freeway causing a little confusion for Thing Two
:p

I've always enjoyed Aimee Mann - she is good at expression. I like her latest, but I don't understand her line of "can't afford the freeway"... maybe she is talking about toll roads in the rich Orange County doctors community... I suppose I need to listen to the words again.

How's life? Hope all things are good with you and your crew.

I'm not sure I got it either. Freeway as symbol of "free way"?

Doug, I'm glad that I could clear that up for you.

Ariel, hop in and I'll turn it up.

Actonbell, can I even tibbar, tibbar at this point :)( I've always liked her too. Hope yours is a happy one.

Ariel, I will check this out in the am with a cup of coffee. Thanks for the link!

Pavel, that's an obsure one - good recall on your part. Hope all is well.

Mo'a, you made me LOL just reading that.

Logo, causing a little confusion for Tali as well.

Ariel, thank you dear friend. I am - just sorting out how to make my way for a little creative fun time in the midst of work/kids/blah/etc, etc. and etc.

Terry, you, Thing Two and Tali! I tried to get off the hook by telling Tali that she was just being ironic, but you know that's without my listening further...

Weirsdo, yet another angle, hmmmm...
