HAPPY CHANUKAH

Or as we say during such holidays "Chag Sameach"!

Here's a little spiritual message to start the Holiday with because, well, it's not for sale at Macy's. This is Rabbi Yehuda Sarna, spiritual leader at NYU Center for Jewish Life, discussing this week's parsha, which is the portion of the Torah (Bible) which gets read in synagogue services on Shabbat. The rest is fairly easy to follow.

Although not specific to the celebration of Chanukah, it is a nice message. It makes me feel peaceful listening - couldn't we all use just a little of that right about now? I thought so. And because of my own day going haywire and in the interest of time, I am just posting this YouTube message in the link below:

To my fellow observers of the Miracle of Lights - Shabbat Shalom, Chag Sameach and a Happy Chanukah!

For a little light humor, head on over to CentralSnark for our own little Chanukah Party and a different take on the game of dreidl.

Monika: I'm ready to jump shop myself if things don't get a little easier in terms of commenting, (not only my comments not taking or so I think, but others not being able to). Ooh but I'm happy to see you. SO maybe it's a good sign for us non-linky brackety types, ay? :)

Brian: Thanks for your good wishes.

Thanks Doug.

Monika: That's what I like - the universal spirituality of the message. Glad you enjoyed it. Now give up some of that gelt!

Neva: I thought it was nice message and glad you enjoyed it. Thank you my dear dear NBFF. xox

Al: Thanks for the good wishes, Pal.

Logo, come on now - take a spin of the driedl and join in the fun!

I ditto Neva... loverly indeedy! Hope you live it up and may it be a time of beauty and peace for you and your beautiful family my friend!

As for this whole beta thing? Blah! I hate being forced to do the gmail thing... and switching over freaks me out, especially after everyone's complaints! One question, do you get to switch blog by blog or does switching your username automatically switch all your blogs under that name on over! Freaked out bohemian minds would like to know!

Neshikot to a boobala G from a meshuga bohemia! WOOH!

MizB: Thank you sweet bohemian. We had a nice evening at Grandma's actually.

You know my inspiration for switching was seeing Actonbell's lovely template. And it seemed easy enough to do. I believe you can go blog by blog. Well with your blog, I'd be a little more freaked out because there's some sidenote about losing some of the template stuff - extra bells and whistles type of thing. We need to get an expert to answer your questions.

Ach, you're a bohemian boobala to me who's lovingly meshugana! Neshikot to you. I'll drop over this weekend. xox

Ann: Thank you. I saw you there too. Thanks for coming and joining in the party. Shabbat Shalom, Happy Chanukah and Chag Sameach all around, boobala. Enjoy your trip - that's so beautiful that you are getting to spend time with your family in Ha'aretz.

I'll look forward to the lovely pictures upon your return.

A belated Happy Chanukah...I seem to be in catch up mode all around these days. A bit like racing to catch the merry go round as it gathers speed, if you know what I mean.

Anyway, happy, happy, joy, joy!!

OK, OK, that's it, I've had it.

I've been all over the Internet lately, wishing everybody I know that celebrates it Hapy Hanukah. Or, Happy Hannukah. Or, Happyy Hannukkah. Or, Chappy Channuka. How many N's? How many K's? And, what's with that C? Can't you people make up your minds?

Zo, Vat iss dis, Vat? Aight days, and a diffrent shpelling for each day?

(My God! I think I've converted! And there's still some left-over ham from Thanksgiving in the fridge!)

Joel, I totally know what you mean. You're not late at all! That's the beauty of Chanukah - you have eight days, none of which would be considered late. So thanks!

Al: So yours was a reform conversion.

If you would like to know - the Hanukah is really the Americanized version. The proper spelling is Chanukah, but then most non-Tribesmembers, would pronounce it like a true English Ch sound, instead of the throat clearing Hebrew sound. Capisce?

But I think you're onto something with the 8 different spellings for 8 days.
