That is in the "Name the Cuff" contest at another New Friend in the Neighborhood's blog. By way of background, her name is PINKY. and she designs and crafts jewelry which is sold here in PINKY'S SHOP. So far so good says I. This honor is partly thanks to our dear techie friend,PAVEL (being perfectly clear), who not only does all the research for us on the latest gadgets we probably won't own, but steered us in the direction of said contest. Things were looking up.
Armed with freshly squeezed aggravation (from squabbling over the proper temp to suffocate a family of four), I headed over to see the cuff in question. I am a sucker for custom jewelry and did I like what I saw! I called it "Wavelength". Although it did not get the winning nod, it came in a close second (sort of like the Joe Lieberman of bangle naming). That second place entitles me to a nice little discount which left unused, would be tantamount to wadding up some bills and throwing them out the window of a speeding car I rationalize, uh reason. I have made several "dry runs" to decide what is worthy of my hard won discount and have it narrowed down to four or five lovely pieces. Do I have to choose?
In all seriousness, Pinky's shop called - Pinky's Shop, showcases her beautifully designed and handmade jewelry. Each special and unique. Now for specifics of that jewelry, I suggest you head on over and ahem, think of any birthdays coming up (first look at your calendar)or think of someone that you may wish to honor <hint hint> and take a browse.
I like both her unique designs and the idea of supporting a fellow blogger. Who knows, she may just have another jewelry piece to name...

OOOOh! FIRST! TAKE THAT EVERYONE! K-POW!
I saw the contest but was too braindead to participate... LOVED the name "wavelength"! So appropriate for that beautiful piece!
I will have to go and check out her work in depth but YAY for you and your second-place win! I think it deserved to be first and NO I am not biased! Wavelength? Simply fabulous!
Man I wish you'd posted this on Monday.
well, you ARE a clever girl!! and i lovelovelove the name you came up with. i'm thinking you should renegotiate with Pinky, tho', i mean, pimping her products here should be good for at least another 10%, right?? our anniversary is next week, i belive i'll be perusing her site with a closer eye (my good one) after i leave here.
well done, NBFF! perhaps you should consider going into advertising? i'm told that's where the big bucks are! (it's what Mom-101 does for a living...)
are we really having lunch manana?? yay! hooray! can't wait!! (can ya tell?) xoxo
MizB: Of course you're not biased, (I thought the same thing). No really "static" is a different mindset and as I was feeling a bit of that when I went there, I wanted more of a peaceful name. And then I had the Van Morrison tune in my head...
Thanks Brian! Congrats on your star turn at Doug's! I'll be there soon. You guys are getting off easy, no carat weights to consider although you might find something nice for Diane there.
So do I Doug, so do I.
Neva: Don't strain the good eye! You need it to drive out here with. Ah thank you - why didn't I see more of my blog buddies entered? Clever quippers that you are my dear NBFF. Advertising - hummm, still tying to figure out what I should be when I grow up...That Mom101 is pretty funny I must say.
HEY! Thanks for the big blog boast! I'm so excited that you like my stuff, as I said, it's interesting to see how people see my work. Like fingerprints, no two ideas are the same.
I really liked the name you posted, but the piece was much more difficult to do than I had expected, so Static just seemed right. I've got about 4 new things to put in my shop, I just haven't had the time to get them all there! Some new leather, some new box clasps and my husband brought me an anvil, so I have many more interesting things cropping up...
pfwBased on your recommendation G Lady I will check out Pinky's creations. There is an anniversary in the offing but, alas, the gifts have been purchased...a brand new washer and dryer...yipee! It was a purchase of necessity I assure you...I learned a long time ago that an appliance big or small does not a gift make..."but I thought you said we needed a blender," echoes in my head as a memory from an anniversary past...fortunately long past.
May I just add that blogger sucks...multiple tries...blah, blah, blah..and then part of the verifier shows up in the first line of my comment. Okay...that gone from my chest I really should get back to work...don't think THEY pay me to do this. At least I'm fairly certain that would be THEY'RE view.
Pinky: It's my pleasure, I was honored to have been in the contest and you do have some lovely things in the shop. Funny, it's sort of like naming your baby. Once you give them the name, you wonder how you could ever have considered another. As I look at the piece, Static fits it beautifully.
Joel: Would that anniversary have anything to do with the "Clothes Incident"? You know she has nice things even for a "thinking of you" gifts. Yes, how about work thinking that? Sheesh! Bloody blogger is acting up (I don't even know why I'm attempting this, but here goes)!
isn't pinky just the best!?!?!? thanks for checking out my blog. yes, we canucks DO enjoy being trendsetters in the world of fruit protection devices, lol.
Ubercherry: I think the blogosphere owes you a big thank you for finding it. Oh and thanks for stopping by - Pinky is the best.
Jenna: Lovely no? Something for everyone.
Jenna - Thanks.
congrats on second~
oooooooo. the very first necklace, the forest treasure one? would look gorgy on my daughter. even the clasp is beautiful.

fn: That's a nice one! I remember the clasp. Very beautiful indeed! Oh and thanks.
